You can add that characteristic sound that occurs when you release the PTT button—a slight crackle, beep, or similar sound—at the end of the transmission. This makes it sound more realistic, or, to take it a step further, allows the closing sounds for the control tower, the flight crew, and ground control to be distinct from one another.
