Optimizing the timing and attitude of the return flight

The current go-around maneuver is too abrupt; it switches directly to a positive climb rate when descending to 1.5 nautical miles.

Suggested revision: Modify to continue descending slightly before transitioning to a positive climb rate, then retract the landing gear and transfer to Approach.
