From the completion of its expansion in the 1960s until 1998, O'Hare was the world's busiest airport in terms of passenger traffic.Currently, O'Hare remains the world’s busiest airport in terms of flight movements and is the fourth-largest international aviation hub in the United States. It serves as United Airlines’ second-largest base and hub, as well as American Airlines’ second-largest hub.The airport has a total of eight runways, making it the airport with the most runways in the world. The longest runway is 13,000 feet, and three other runways are 9,000 feet long, suitable for large passenger aircraft to take off and land.
